Something you have always wanted to do
Throughout my life, I strive to take advantage of opportunities and push myself to try new things.
I do not want my life to be comfortable — I want to explore and experience all of life. Yes, this means embracing the bad and tough times just as much as the positive. This is what makes us human. This is life.
Every single one of us will experience difficulties and challenges throughout our lives. While we cannot prevent these moments, we have complete control over how we deal with and work through them.
Our experiences contribute to who we are, our growth, and provide us with a better understanding of the people and world around us. One question I like to ask myself throughout the year, is what is something you have always wanted to do but haven’t yet?
It’s a bucket list-type question that makes you think about things you have been putting off. We can all create a long list of things we want or hope to do in this lifetime, but this is not a list. This question is not about something you just want to do, but something you have always wanted to do, but for one reason or another have not done yet whether by choice or circumstance.
There is a sense of urgency to this question. I structured it that way by design. The truth is we never know when our time on this planet is over. I refuse to be the person that chose to live a comfortable and safe life.
A commitment I have long made to myself is to never let fear prevent you from trying new things or putting yourself out there. There are times when I have not lived up to that commitment and that is okay. You get back up and try again and again and again.
So what’s something you have always wanted to do but haven’t yet?
