Staying grounded
The other day I was sitting in one of my favorite local coffee shops in Schenectady when I had this thought. The more grounded in nature I am the less anxious and on edge I feel.
We are always creating and putting barriers between us and nature. When it rains we put up umbrellas, when we walk outside we put on shoes, etc. Whenever I can, I am going to strive to be more connected with nature and removing these barriers.
Of course, all of this is within reason. I am not going to walk around Schenectady or Albany barefoot but it is a reminder that when in nature to remove some of those barriers.
If it is lightly raining, letting some of the droplets get on my skin and clothes. When I am meditating or doing yoga in my backyard to embrace the ground with my feet.
