Some reflections on 2023
Happy New Year! As I reflect on the year, it has been slightly different than the past few years.
In the past, it has been about reflection and introspection and while that has also occurred this past year, it has been more about pushing myself out of my comfort zone and trying new things. One thing I have enjoyed this year is once a week, taking myself on solo date nights. I have met so many interesting people by just going out and being present without my phone always in my hand.
Growth is not linear and one of the biggest lessons I have learned this year is that not everything is a work in progress. You do not always have to be working on yourself every single day of the year. It is okay to take a step back and just be. Just being is also a form of healing because you are not focused on anything other than the present moment. Being present has so many positive benefits for your emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
