Note

What I’ve learned being in The Netherlands for a month

The last month has brought a lot changes after relocating to The Netherlands.

As I look back over the last few weeks there has been some mixed emotions. Specifically here are some things I learned:

  • I do not miss driving as much as I thought I would.
  • Being immersed in Dutch helps with understanding and learning the language.
  • There is a much slower pace to everything.
  • You will get hit by a bike or tram if you’re not paying attention.
  • Bikes are treated like cars and I learned they even have road side assistance for them.
  • The weather can be cool and windy but also sunny and mild even in winter.
I’m going to keep expanding this list over the next few months!
