Before we start

What I need before day one

You've signed off on the scope. This is the last admin step — it replaces the week of emails where I ask who owns the CMS and you ask which staging URL I meant. About ten minutes, and only six fields are required. For the rest: if you don't know, say so. "Not sure" is a real answer and it's more useful to me than a guess.

Who I'm working with

This becomes your portal login.

Only used when something's urgent and email isn't moving.

Where invoices go, if it isn't the address on your website.

VAT number, a PO or cost-centre reference, and the email invoices should go to. Easier now than after the first one bounces.

What I'm auditing

One URL per line. Include the PDFs and emails if we agreed those too.

If there's an environment you'd rather I worked in than production.

WordPress, Shopify, a React app, something bespoke — whatever your developers call it.

Who builds it

The username, and how you'll get me a password. Not the password itself.

Where you're starting from

Has this been audited before?

Paste it or link it. Even a weak report tells me what's already been looked at.

Your team's known issues, and any complaints you've had from users.

Do you publish an accessibility statement?

What's driving this

Why now

A real date with something attached to it — a launch, a tender close, a regulator. Leave it blank if there isn't one.

What you're measured against

Not sure is fine — for most EU organisations it's WCAG 2.2 AA via EN 301 549, and I'll confirm which applies to you.

Support tickets, user research, one person who called. Anything beats nothing.

How we'll work

If it isn't you.

The person who can say 'ship it'. Naming them now is the single biggest thing that stops a report sitting untouched.

What I'll need access to

If I need to sign something, send it now rather than the week we start.

This goes to me and into my client portal. Nowhere else. Privacy policy.
