WCAG Levels

Conformance & Claims

Conformance is per-page, not per-site. Level AA means all A + AA criteria pass on that page. Claims should specify version (2.2), level (AA), scope (pages/processes), and date. Partial conformance exists for third-party content you don't control.

In plain terms

Accessibility is judged page by page. A proper claim states which version and level you meet, and for which pages.

Why this matters

Conformance claims carry legal weight. Getting the scope, level, and version right — and remembering it's judged per page — protects you from overstating compliance and the liability that follows.
