What non-compliance can cost in Spain

The maximum reported penalty in Spain is Up to €1,000,000 (very serious infractions) — tiers: ≤€30,000 minor, ≤€90,000 serious, ≤€1,000,000 very serious; plus business suspension up to 2 years. Penalties are set nationally under Article 30 of the directive, which requires them to be effective, proportionate and dissuasive.

Pre-EAA, a €90,000 fine against Vueling (2024) was upheld for an inaccessible website.

Cure period

Serious violations can be penalized without prior warning.
