Understandable WCAG 3.2.4

Consistent Identification

Components with the same function must be identified consistently. If 'Search' is a label on one page, don't call it 'Find' on another.

In plain terms

Call the same thing by the same name everywhere — don't label it 'Search' on one page and 'Find' on another.

Why this matters

Different names or icons for the same function force people to work out, each time, that 'Find' and 'Search' do the same thing — extra mental effort that trips up many users.

How to detect

Quick check

Look for repeated functions across the site (search, download, print). Are they labeled and iconed the same way everywhere? Inconsistent names for one action fail.
